Hatchet - Gary Paulsen

I can't think of a more appropriate book to begin the year with than Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.  Although this book should be an easy reader for the TAG 6th grader, the Newberry award-winning book tells the story of a boy, Brian,  who finds out that he can overcome great adversity as long as he believes in himself.  I encourage you to ask your students about this book over the next few weeks!
